Growing up, our house was filled with slavic motifs and the bright colors of Bohemia, while outside our door the city of San Francisco brimmed with transgressive aesthetic. Bold leather ensembles decorated the visitors of the Folsom Street Gair every year. Born from biker culture in the 50s and 60s, each outfit declared a heightened masculinity; an appropriation of sexual power. In this collection, hard lines and the revelation of skin contrast with bright colors and embroidered motifs of the Czech Republic; melding two opposing worlds into unity. The collection references Charles James’ philosophy of working around the body; using his shoulder shell, platitudes, and the magic triangle.
