The Catechism of the Catholic Church names “homosexual acts” as “intrinsically immoral and contrary to the natural law” and names “homosexual tendencies” as “objectively disordered.” This collection explores the dissonance between catholicism and queerness by intermingling clerical aesthetics with queer fashion. It adopts the lens of burlesque, evoking the flowing drapery of the Virgin Mary and priestly robes while parodying it with transgressive elements of corsetry and striptease.
